If your teeth are forward. We need to push them back. For that reason we need extra space in your jaw. To gain space , we need to remove some teeth out. So that proper aesthetic alignment can be made.

if a orthodontist have suggested it may be the right diagnosis. it is a normal procedure done routinely to correct forwardly placed teeth. dont worry teeth will be removed under anaesthesia only. and after treatment there will be no space left where teeth has been removed and no one can tell that u have 2 upper and 2lower teeth missing. but your face and profile will have considerable changes and pleasant ones too.

The opinion given by your orthodontist might be based on the space required for the two teeth that is proclined(inclined in front) to move in and get aligned with the arch. Without any space on your back teeth region the two front teeth can't me moved in. And this is a normal protocol to remove 4 teeth for orthodontic treatment(braces). This is called therapeutic extraction and the space gained my removing 4 teeth will be utilised to move your proclined front teeth in proper position. And you will not see any space of the removed teeth when the treatment is complete. But further to evaluate if it is really needed to remove 4 teeth and also check with other possibilities you can take a second opinion.
Next Steps
Take necessary X-rays (OPG and Lateral Ceph ) and then consult another dentist for opinion.

Hello, It is a common procedure to remove the 4 first premolars in order to gain space so that the teeth can be pushed back and aligned properly.Dont worry as all these spaces get closed by the end of the treatment.Regards,Dr Suman Makam,Dental arts,Jyanagar,Bangalore

Hello ,acc.to the details you have provided that your front teeth are protuding out & in most of cases we do extractions to create enough space to retract the protuding teeth in space and the extractions varies from 2..4 depending upon the requirement of space to retract the protuding teeth.

The reason behind it may be insufficient space in your jaw which is the reason for such a problem. In order to create sufficient space ,the most least desired tooth should be taken out which may vary from 1 to 2 depends on your x ray report and the condition of your jaw.

The treatment suggested to you is one of the ways by which your problem can be solved. There are multiple other ways of correcting your smile like veneers, crown, orthodontic treatment without tooth extraction and so on. The treatment option that is best suited for you can be suggested only after a thorough clinical and radiographic examination.
Next Steps
get a set of extra oral rays, OPG and , LATERAL CEPHALOGRAM and get that evaluated by your orthodontist
Health Tips
do ask about the various other ways by which your problem can be sorted out and get a second opinion if your orthodontist insists on removing 4 teeth.
