On ventilators..bp not being normal
My dad had bi pass surgery in 2012..since 1 year he is on bed due to paralysis on right side,he got severe bed sores..sepsim..wbc 35000, bp 77/53,bp not going to normal..since 2 days..on ventilators since 50hrs..doctor said..if dp doesn't go normal heart may fail anytime and if urine stops then need to do dialysis...plz advise what happens if a patient is on ventilator..why my dad bp is not gping to normal..is it due to ventilators, is his bp readings life threatening..can he comeout of ventilators...plz advise..

Dear ,  it's worrysm condition  Patient is long standing bed ridden , so there is always chances of infection. As per your given information,  he had severe infection called as severe sepsis , second thing already he had bipass  surgery , so he is having severe sepsis with multi organ dysfunction.  It's very critical condition,  do putting on ventilator,  giving bp  medicine , doing haemodialilysis  all those are supportive majors which can help patient to come out of all those problems ,  finally patient response and resistance power of patient  also important. There are several causes of low BP to your father. He may be heart failure. But the most likely cause is Sepsis which ultimately leads to multi organ failure

Sir from information provided by you.,your father is in sepsis.Mutiple factors are there .Yes it is life threatening.What is his 2decho report?If ejection fraction is less than can symptons might worsen.Please contact through practo for further guidance.

It's because of his disease that he isn't being able to maintain blood pressure. I'm sure whatever is best possible that is being done for the patient at the hospital. Doctors can only do so much. And I'm sure the best possible is being done. If you have doubts, you can shift to some other hospital if you think you will get better treatment. I'm sorry. I wish for your father's speedy recovery.
