Talk to experienced psychiatrist online and get your health questions answered in just 5 minutes.
Akathisia is a recognized side effect of some antipsychotic medications, and if it occurs, psychiatrists may modify the treatment plan based on your symptoms and overall clinical condition. The safety and suitability of any change depend on your diagnosis, medical history, and regular follow-up
Next Steps
Continue regular follow-up with your treating psychiatrist and report any persistent restlessness or new symptoms promptly.
Health Tips
Avoid changing or stopping prescribed medications on your own, and keep a record of any side effects to discuss during your follow-up visit
