Fever due to Dengue virus presents with 1) associated with bleeding disorder or severe rashes over body 2) severe dehydration due to fluid loss. or both 1+2. So, in your case, patient is not able to eat solid or semi-solid diet means severe weakness of body due to fluid loss. This severe fluid loss can only be replenished by intravenous fluids, which will help her fight against Dengue virus. Dengue fever is a self limiting fever and treatment measures requires exact fluid management and proactive treatment of bleeding problems,if present. Antibiotics has no role in uncomplicated dengue virus treatment. Once dengue fever is confirmed, a patient needs to be admitted in any higher health care center for evaluation of platelet count as per doctor advice. If platelet count is reduced to 50,000 or lesser or if there is any bleeding problem seen during course of treatment,than platelet transfusion is adviced by doctor as per treatment protocol.

You should admit your mother immediately in any higher health care center. Give her lots of fluid and liquid diets untill admission. Donot sit in home for full recovery, as it is not recommended as per dengue fever treatment protocol. Your mother needs to be continously monitored and evaluated, which is not possible from home. Your patients weakness can only be replenished by immediate intravenous fluid adminstration. This kind of weaknesses will only worsen if oral treatment is continued. Donot be late to get her admitted.
