Hello, Quick background, I'm a finance major who went into a completely different field- recruitment- that I'm enjoying, I'm good at, and growing at. I still feel that I'm overstressed on multiple (I will not say all) occasions. And I sometimes wonder if I make the right career choice. I drink a few times a week, and sometimes get blackout drunk. If it was rare I wouldn't mention it but it's atleast weekly. I portray myself as someone who is extremely self confidence but I'm not. I get nervous and I portray it. I don't believe enough in myself despite my credentials- srcc and lbs I am ashamed of myself in a way, so unable to speak to family as openly because I don't want them to worry. I know what I could do but not being able to speak to anyone about it because of pride and the fear of opening up, and not trusting maybe. I want to be looked up upon by everyone- hence why can't talk about my weaknesses.

Dear mam Thank you for sharing so much about yourself. Many people find it difficult to share their thoughts and feelings with their loved ones. But you might find that it is easier to open up with a professional. A psychiatrist / psychologist can engage with you in talk therapy where u can discuss your concerns and understand why you are getting the way you are feeling and how can you cope up with it feel free to consult me or any other professional. Thanks Regards Dr Ankita Mishra

Having black outs this frequently is a problem for sure. Now there are a few questions- what came first, the lack of confidence or alcohol? Why is it that you doubt your current job. Your credentials are top notch! Since when have you been having these problems? Are you also having sleep problems? Do you sometimes also have panic attacks? A lot needs to be asked before you can be started on treatment in the form of medicine or therapy. But there's one thing for sure- you will need a short course of medicines for your alcohol problem. Please see a Psychiatrist. I practice in Mumbai. We respect doctor patient confidentiality so you don't have to worry about what you tell about yourself.
