Nose blockage
My nose gets blocked almost everyday. Sometimes both sides at the same time mostly at the time of sleeping. It is very difficult for me to breathe then. I have tried many nasal drops and vapour. But none were that effective. What can be the problem and how to cure it?

Hi. Nose can get blocked due to several causes. It can be functional causes like nasal allergy or structural causes like a deviated nasal septum, nasal polyps etc. Since you have been having the symptoms for a long time, it is best that you visit a qualified ENT specialist for a detailed evaluation and if necessary, nasal endoscopy. A word of caution, many of the available over-the-counter nasal drops are harmful if used for long durations and it is advisable to use these only under medical supervision. Warm regards, Dr. Aanchal, Therapeia centre, Bengaluru.
