Try Sitz Bathing Procedure. Fill a bathtub with 3–4 inches of warm water or fill a sitz bath basin, which is designed to fit over a toilet bowl.Sit in the warm water for 10–20 minutes. After soaking, gently pat the area dry with a clean, soft towel. Do not rub.

Your symptoms — swelling, lump-like feeling during bowel movement, and no bleeding — suggest acutely inflamed internal hemorrhoids (piles) with significant edema (swelling). This is common when stools become hard or when there is straining during toilet. The good news is that this condition is not dangerous and usually gets better within a few days with proper treatment. Treatment Plan (Fast Relief) 1. Stool Softener (most important) To prevent straining and reduce swelling: • Cremaffin Plus – 1–2 teaspoons at night OR • Lactulose 15–20 ml at night OR • Isabgol (psyllium husk) 2 teaspoons in warm water at night This will make the stool soft and reduce the pressure on piles. 2. Ointment for Piles Apply Anovate / Smuth / Pilex / Preparation H: • Twice daily • And once before bowel movement This reduces swelling and discomfort. 3. Sitz Bath (Highly Effective) Sit in warm water (with a pinch of salt) for 10–15 minutes, 2 times/day — especially after passing stool. This gives very fast relief from swelling and pain. 4. Medicines for Pain / Swelling If pain or inflammation is significant: • Aceclofenac + Serratiopeptidase OR • Diclofenac Take after food, once or twice a day for 3–5 days. Diet Advice For the next 5–7 days: Eat: • Banana, papaya • Green vegetables • Dal, soups • Curd/buttermilk • Oats, fruits • Drink 2.5–3 liters water/day Avoid: • Spicy/oily food • Red meat • Tea/coffee excess • Bakery foods (maida) • Sitting long time on toilet • Straining
Next Steps
Expected Improvement • Pain reduces in 24–48 hours • Swelling improves in 3–5 days • Lump feeling settles in 5–7 days
Health Tips
When to See a Doctor Urgently • Severe pain that doesn’t reduce • Bleeding starts and continues • Fever • Hard, painful swelling (possible thrombosed pile)
