Night terrors
A ten year old boy is suffering from night terrors, he gets nightmares and gets scared and refuses to stay in his bed and gets tough to handle for half an hour or so. This has become frequent. He has lost his mother and calls for her so it might be that loss too. What will be best course to resolve these terrors and whatever anxiety he has been facing. Are there any way where we can do so without medication.

Since he is 10 years old and has faced a very major traumatic event of losing his mother, he probably won't need medication. Initially we try to get the boy to open up and talk about it since children do not know how to express themselves verbally like adults. Hence the night terrors are a form of expressing the sadness. The child needs to talk to a therapist for some sessions to figure out what he is experiencing.
