Need a MAD device
Took aligners treatment for 2 years, during which I developed a wrong bite which lead to face misalignment and now scoliosis. My jaw is also backwards and pushed towards left side. Are there any doctors especially in Coimbatore who can make me the MAD (mandibular advancement device). I need a solution asap which isn't too expensive because I'm having too much cervical pain and I also have a tongue tie.

The concerns about the changed bite, jaw position, facial asymmetry and neck pain need a proper clinical examination. Orthodontic treatment can change the bite and tooth position, but it is not possible to say from this history alone that it caused facial asymmetry or scoliosis. A tongue-tie may also contribute to certain oral or functional problems, but it needs to be assessed individually.
Next Steps
I would recommend an evaluation by an orthodontist and an oral & maxillofacial surgeon, preferably with experience in jaw-joint (TMJ) and facial asymmetry cases. They can assess your bite, jaw position, facial symmetry, TMJ and tongue movement and decide whether an MAD is actually appropriate. If the cervical pain is significant or you have been diagnosed with scoliosis, please also consult an appropriate spine/orthopaedic specialist. Treatment should be planned after a proper examination rather than starting an MAD immediately.
Health Tips
An MAD is mainly used for specific conditions such as sleep-related breathing problems and is not a general treatment for correcting facial asymmetry or a backward/shifted jaw. Using one without the correct diagnosis may sometimes affect the bite or jaw joints. Please take your previous orthodontic records, photographs and X-rays/scans to the consultation. Since you are having significant neck pain, don’t delay getting evaluated.

Hlo mam…..The symptoms described here suggest a complex interaction between dental alignment, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) function, tongue biomechanics, and posture. A definitive diagnosis requires an in-person clinical exam, bite analysis, and imaging (such as a TMJ MRI or OPG x-ray). Suspected Diagnoses & Underlying Reasons:- 1)Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) / Occlusal Dysfunctional Bite: An altered bite following clear aligner therapy can shift how the upper and lower teeth meet, causing backward (retruded) or asymmetrical (left-deviated) jaw position. This forces the jaw joint and surrounding chewing muscles out of alignment. 2)Cervicogenic Pain & Postural Compensation: The neck (cervical spine) and the jaw joint share extensive nerve connections and muscle networks. A misaligned jaw shifts head posture forward or laterally to compensate, triggering neck pain, muscle spasms, and functional spinal imbalance (often mimicking or exacerbating scoliosis-like symptoms). 3)Ankyloglossia (Tongue Tie): A restrictive lingual frenulum limits tongue mobility. The tongue plays a key role in resting against the roof of the mouth to support upper jaw posture; a tongue tie can exacerbate airway restriction, improper swallow patterns, and poor jaw placement.
Next Steps
Targeted Treatment Plan 1 Comprehensive TMJ & Occlusal Evaluation: Avoid requesting a Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) without a thorough workup. An off-the-shelf or misfitted MAD can permanently alter your bite or worsen joint strain. See an orthodontist or TMJ specialist for a custom occlusal splint or functional appliance tailored to decompress the joint. 2 Multidisciplinary Physical Therapy: Consult a physical therapist specializing in neck and TMJ care to release muscle spasms, correct postural compensations, and address cervical spine strain. 3 Tongue Tie Assessment: Have an oral surgeon or myofunctional therapist evaluate the severity of the tongue tie. If it restricts functional movement, a simple release procedure (frenectomyl/frenuloplasty) combined with myofunctional therapy can improve resting tongue posture.
Health Tips
Do not delay the treatment.
