Neck pain behind
Hi Doc, My relative is having a pain behind the neck whenever she bends her neck down, there is no swelling, she feels the pain is internal and not external, the intensity has increased over two months now, she leads a sedentary corporate lifestyle, please advise a way forward. she's married with no major illness history.

Hello there... I understand your concern... There are many possible reasons for your pain which has to be taken care....it may be due to Abnormalities in the bone or joints,trauma,poor posture,degenerative diseases,muscle strain,shoulder joint instability,dislocation...you may require investigations like x ray,MRI etc...Consult nearest orthopedic surgeon they will do the needful.

She could be suffering from cervical spondylosis. Get an MRI to confirm the diagnosis. She would need rest, neck support, physiotherapy, antiinflammatories muscle relaxants, once her diagnosis is confirmed
