Nail Brown Strip
My name is Vijay. I am having a brown strip on my left hand thumb nail from more than a year. As it was not changing at all, I ignored it. But last week I have observed a ridge on my nail. It is there exactly on my brown strip. I just googled about this and I found some disturbing results claiming a possibility of cancer. I need to consult with doctor.

Hello Vijay, looking at the photo at present it doesn't look like cancer. But no one can say for sure clinically. If you want a confirmation of the diagnosis then dermoscopic examination or nail biopsy is advised. Ridge can come due to trauma to the nail it will gradually go away.
