Myconium stained amniotic fluid
I had grade 3 myconium stained amniotic fluid during delivery. I have heard that the child is more likely to catch pneumonia in later stage of life if amniotic fluid is stained with myconium. Is it true? If yes getting pneumonia vaccination will help? Also please let me know if any special care to be taken for the baby as amniotic fluid was stained with myconium.

If the child suffered from meconium aspiration syndrome, they are more likely to get asthma and breathing problems in later life. Pneumonia will occur immediately not later. Pneumonia vaccine is recommended for all kids. It should be given staring at 6 weeks. Just staining with meconium will not cause any problems. The baby must have suffered from severe problems and being admitted in nicu requiring oxygen
