My symptoms comes under any neuralgia?
Hi, I have constant burning pain in the lower jaw under ear and side of the neck for more than 6 months.Went to dentist, ent, GP. No proper diagnosis yet. Dentist told me to extract upper wisdom tooth,do root canal in one tooth. I did it and still the same symptoms. He want me to extract another lower molar tooth. My GP told me to check with neurologist for neuralgia before I do another tooth extraction. I saw a neurologist, he said my area of pain and symptoms doesn't comes under trigeminal neuralgia. I asked about glassopharynal neuralgia and he said he is not sure about it. He prescribed me carbamazepine tablet to see if it helps with my pain.He also ordered MRI brain with contrast to see if the nerve is ok or not.He said if mri is normal,I can look into tmjd or dental issues. He said it looks like muscular issue. My symptoms are constant burning pain in right lower jaw under ear&neck, ear blocked, ringing in ear, constant feel of something in throat, sore pain on top of head above ear.
