Intrarticular injection gives relief to some, and for some it dosent work.
Ultimately, pain relief is important. Because with pain, you can't expect the patient to exercise the shoulder joint.
Exercises are mainstay of any treatment especially in elderly.

Health Tips
Intrarticular steroid once do not harm to patient .
Even low dose oral steroid, limited numbers don't harm the patient.
Just that it should be given by a expert after checking DM etc.
Hello,
Most probably she is suffering from rotator cuff swelling or frozen shoulder..
Don't give steroids
Start her on
Tab Etova ER 400 mg twice daily for 10 days after meal
tab Pan 40 once daily before breakfast for 5 days
Tab Chymoral forte one tablet three times daily before meals for 5 days
Ice fomentation
Regards,
It's frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
Have u tried physiotherpy?
Medicine are required in this along with physiotherpy
Steroid wil be good option .but need her sugar controlled before intraarticular injection . It should be below 200 after having food.
But best will be giving her anesthesia , steroid injection and manipulation of shoulder joint (series of shoulder movements with mild force to break adhesion formed between tissue.)
Or if not want to consider above option then go for arthroscopy shoulder debridement to remove this adhesion formed in tissues and muscle.
Next Steps
for medicien and physiotherpy u can consult us directly on practo app. or visit your near by Orthopaedic doctor
U should not give steroid. When other treatments are there to cure her problems why to give steroids. I need full history of yr mother to rule out diagnosis and treatment
