The medicines are working. Usually the medicines used in ART centres are good and can reduce viral loads within 2-3 months max. Now your husband is on ART since 1 year. Surely need to find out why VL is still 514. There could be many other factors. You need to connect.
Hi.. Your husband's HIV viral load of 514 copies/mL is low but no longer undetectable, which could be due to a temporary viral blip, missed medication doses, or rarely, resistance. It's important that he continues taking his antiretroviral medicines regularly and does not miss any doses. A repeat viral load test should be done in 2 to 4 weeks to see if it returns to undetectable levels. If it remains detectable, his HIV doctor may consider resistance testing and adjust the treatment. For IVF, some centers may proceed with precautions like sperm washing, but others may prefer waiting until the viral load is undetectable again.
