Type 1 if confirmed is not curable. There is an absolute deficiency of insulin in the body and hence the person is insulin dependent for life. But life is quite normal when insulin is being taken. This is unlike type 2 where lifestyle changes , diet and exercise can reduce or sometimes cure the diabetes. Type 1 used to be an inevitably fatal disease before insulin was discovered, even Ayurvedic texts of Sushruta describe the same outcome.

Confirm type 1 through blood and Gene tests. Continue insulin , maintain metabolic health.
