I have a boil on my arm and I believe it has mrsa in it because I’ve had mrsa in the past. So I went to the doctor and they gave me mupirocin ointment to put in my nose. I don’t believe I’m supposed to put it in my nose but the doctor said it was made for external use but I can put it in my nose. In the instructions it said that it was not meant for intranasal use. Please help, should I listen to what my doctor told me?

Mupirocin put in nose helps in decreasing the bacteria load ( it's usually the carrier site ) thus helping preventing recurrences
