Multiple Myeloma
Hi, My Dad is suffering from multiple myloma cancer. He was diagnosed in 2013 and he was treated with 6 cycles of chemotherapeutic injections. After 3 years last year it relapsed and doctor tried many combinations but couldnt did not help much. He has other side effects. Is there a cure for multiple myeloma? Thanks, Mary

Dear practo user, multiple myeloma is a non curable but treatable disease. Average survival varies between 3 to 10 years after diagnosis depending on various risks factors. There is role of bone marrow transplant but not every patient is eligible for that. I think your father can be managed with chemotherapy.
