Of late looks my cousin is having BP. Checked his BP hourly and it is in the range of 135/70to 145/84 for the past two days . He gets slight headache sometimes. He is otherwise healthy no diabetic, no cholesterol etc Can he take a beta blocker /calcium blocker to start with to bring down the BP

Hello, His BP is high but there are 2 things we need to decide. 1. Does he need medicines for this or can be dealt with lifestyle modifications ? 2. Which medicines will be appropriate. I need further information about him for further advice. CCB , ARB/ACEI or Thiazide diuretics are the first line anti hypertensive agents. Beta blockers are not. Take care
