Hello..... start maintaining oral hygiene of the kid...do brushing with kids toothpaste appropriate for his age twice daily...rinse mouth after having food....clean his tongue also If his teeth got any cavities do check up with your nearby dentist and if required treat it early...

As far as oral hygiene is concerned at that age you can use a soft baby brush and a pea sized amount toothpaste to clean his teeth twice a day. However mouth odour can also be there if he has a nose block and does mouth breathing or even due to stomach problems. Consult your paediatrician if you suspect these issues
