It is most likely a submucous cleft palate. This condition also requires correction surgery to avoid future speech related problems. Our Center at BLK Superspeciality Hospital is a specialised centre for these kind of surgeries. Please consult.
Next Steps
consult as soon as possible

A cleft is developed on the palate when the foetus is 6-8 weeks in the womb . Normally during this period fusion of bones of the mouth take place and when this fusion is incomplete it leads to formation of a cleft in between the palate Which appears like a passage from the mouth to nose . It doesn't occur after birth because by that time all the bones have fused , hence nipples are not the reason for it . It can be present only near the throat (soft palate )or it can run the entire length of the palate effecting the hard and soft palate .
Next Steps
Plz consult ur doc asap , as sooner it is diagnosed better it can be treated . The cleft can be closed surgically in a baby .
