Mouth breathing during sleep

My daughter is breathing through mouth during sleep.she is startling at every 5 min.doctor told that it is a throat infection.moxikind cv, paracetamol syrup,asthallin syrups are being used.we are fearing whole night of her breathing difficulty. Why mouth breathing happening.please clarify sir
