A forward-bent posture with inability to stand or walk straight is commonly due to age-related spinal degeneration, osteoporosis with vertebral collapse, or weak back and hip muscles chronic back pain and nerve compression can further worsen posture and balance such symptoms should be evaluated with a clinical examination and spine X-ray, and sometimes MRI if needed treatment usually focuses on pain control, posture-correction exercises, and muscle strengthening calcium and vitamin D supplementation and use of a walking aid may be advised early assessment is important to reduce fall risk and prevent further progression.
