As I always tell my patients , it’s better to be safe then sorry. It is possible that the child may contract rabies . The treatment includes washing the wound properly with soap water . Give the rabies immunoglobulin HRIG locally into the wound and vaccinate the child with rabies vaccine on day 0,3,7,14.
