The middle ear cavity and the mastoid air cells are connected to the nasal passages and are lined by the same mucosa as the nasal passages. When you use Momeflo nasal spray, some of it will enter the eustachian tubes and heal any inflammation present in the middle ear and mastoid too. This is why your ENT doctor recommends you do the Valsalva Manoeuvre after using the nasal spray to improve the penetration of the medication.
