Mirtazapine
I am responding to Mirtazapine 7.5mg right from Day 1. Could not get much out of most SSRIs even after a month. But still trying with Fluoxetine max dose from last 2 weeks and will continue in parallel even though I don't see any benefits yet. But I am concerned about metabolic sides and glycemic control of Mirtazapine. Question 1: Should I still continue with Mirtazapine as it seemed to be working? Question 2: If yes to above, how to cope with potential metabolic side effects and glycemic control? Question 3: Is there a better alternative than Mirtazapine to treat atypical depression, anxiety and OCD. Please suggest. Thank you.

Better to continue with mirtazapine as you are responding to it. To prevent metabolic side effects of mirtazapine you can adopt lifestyle changes and use lowest possible dose of mirtazapine. Their is nothing like better alternative medicine.Different individuals respond differently to medicine. Mirtazapine is not usually used to treat OCD but in your case you are responding. So it is better to continue that medicine which you are responding to. Best of luck.
