I know medicines like Mirtazapine and Quetiapine (used for sleep and mood) usually need tapering when stopping.
My question is: after how long taking doesn’t need tapering?
For example, if someone has taken these daily for one month, do they still need tapering? Or is tapering required only after two or three months of daily use?
I wanna use them for sleep, but I don’t want to taper, so how long should I use to safely stop without tapering?

They are safe to be taken for many years under monitoring by a psychiatrist. Their is no fixed time for tapering. Some tolerate tapering and stopping, whilst others don't. So follow your treating psychiatrist advise.

Quetiapine and Mirtazapine are not such medications that can be used for SOS basis
An individual ideally should not abruptly stop it, if continued for more than a month
Another important factor is what are the dose of these medications
So as per my opinion, do not adjust the dose on your own, consult a Psychiatrist for further assessment and management will be planned accordingly
Hi.. quetiapine is anti-psychotic and mirtazapine is an anti-depressant. They may be used for sleep sometimes because of their sedation property. However will need further history regarding which the medicines were started in your case. They are not a prn based medicines. Consult online for treatment
Hii..
Tapering of medication especially psychiatric medication should be done under guidance..
They are not like general medication which can be taken whenever needed and stopped like antibiotics with a short course..
Every medication is different in their own way given for different symptoms..
