Merina removal
Merina was inserted in my mother in law in 2014 due to heavy bleeding. Is it mandatory to get it removed or replaced now after 6 years else what should be done. After what time should we consider it to get removed. Is there any expiry period also. Thanks in advance.

Mirena is for 5 years and then it’s hormonal effect weaned off .so please get it removed .hopefully she would have menopause by now

Mirena effective for 5 years..it should be removed now ..as she is 56years chances of attaining menopause is more so she can wait for few months after removal..
