Menstruation
My mom is having irregular menstruations since last few months. Her urine diagnosis report says that she is having high concentration of epithelial cells in her urine. What does that indicate? What should be done?

Thank you for your question. Her urine report suggests that it possibly was not a clean catch and epithelial cells from the skin contaminated the sample. This needs repeating. Your doctor will guide her in detail on how to do this. Irregular periods are common in her age group. However it should not be ignored. Some assessment of the endometrial lining and an ultrasound is required. Again, her gynaecologist will guide her. She should also have had regular cervical smears done. Again this is something her gynaecologist needs to check with her and if it needs doing include it in her workup. Best wishes
