If you have Melasma then there is no 100 %cure, you have to combine in clinic treatments (peels / Lasers) with home care (lightening creams, sunscreen) for many years (as long as it takes) warm regards Dr Prashant Murugkar Clinique Beaute Naturelle www.beautydr.in

Melasma is a difficult condition to treat as it is known for relapses. A seasoned Dermatologist will explain you more about the condition. Melasma has different phases of treatment – active treatment phase and a maintenance phase and you should understand this or relapses are common. You may need oral medications based on few blood tests. Skin is the mirror of internal health and to get a perfect skin you need to treat both ways - internally and externally. A good skin care regimen comprises 4 steps - cleansing, toning, moisturizing and sunblock. Based on your skin type, a dermatologist will recommend you appropriate products. There are few add on treatment options which may expedite the final results and include chemical peels and Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers but these do not work in isolation.
