Melasma/ hyperpigmentation

I've had dark region/ patches around my mouth for quite sometime (i guess 2-3 years). i don't know whether it's melasma or hyperpigmentation. i've almost tried everything to get rid of it, whether it be coconut oil, lemon juice or turmeric powder. i wanted to know that can i self-diagnose it by using Kozicare Cream (i've heard a lot 'bout it online and seen the reviews as well)? is kozicare safe to use? could you please give me some some tips for its application and precautions to keep in mind.
