Helo Doctor My mother takes Exermet 500 sustained release (Generic)twice daily but now the tablet has stopped and a new make of exermet 500 prolonged release available with same composition My query is this new exermet 500 prolonged is same as exermet 500 sustained and should my mother replace this new tablet and take twice daily as earlier Thank you Anshuman j.c

Both are similar so same dosage to continue. Pl add a vitamin b12 with it as metformin can cause malabsorption for vitamin b12
