You should be ok to have a medical check up when taking COC. These a prescribed to healthy women for the purpose of prevention of unwanted pregnancy. Not taking one would put you at risk of an unwanted medical event. Contraceptive pills do not affect your ability to work effectively or efficiently. Rather they can increase these as well as reduce anxiety because of the mental relief of knowing that the risk of unwanted pregnancy is low.
