Quetiapine Usage Considerations
ð¹ Long-Term Use: â Quetiapine is effective for managing conditions like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or depression. â Long-term use may be appropriate for some individuals but requires regular monitoring for side effects like weight gain, drowsiness, or metabolic changes.
ð¹ SOS (As-Needed) Use: â ï¸ Quetiapine is not typically recommended for SOS use, as it works best when taken consistently. â ï¸ Abrupt changes in dosage or usage patterns can affect its efficacy and may lead to withdrawal symptoms.
What You Should Do? â Consult Your Doctor: Discuss your experience with the medication and its efficacy. Your doctor can determine if long-term use is suitable or if adjustments are needed. â Monitor Side Effects: Report any unusual symptoms like mood changes, excessive sedation, or physical discomfort. â Follow Prescribed Plan: Avoid self-adjusting the dosage or frequency without medical advice.
