Manic episode of bipoler disorder
My mother is suffring from manic episode. We had recognaised it earlyer,medications were given but at a certain level of time she stoped having the medication saying that she is all right. V also realised changes in her. But now again she is showing the same symptoms as before. It was found that her father was also the same like her. I dont know which doctor to concern and how long will the medications will run. Its effect are really painfull. Can i plz get some suggetions? Will it have an end? Can it be cured completely?

It possible for a person with bipolar disorder to experience ups and downs in mood i.e. mania and depression. Treatment of bipolar disorder consists of 2 phases. Acute phase treatment aims at controlling mania or depression. And maintenance phase aims at preventing these episodes. If left untreated,  it can lead to social isolation, physical and emotional exhaustion, development of secondary disorders, sometimes person becomes completely incapacitated or even suicidal.
