Hello Doctors! I am suffering from severe Macular Amyloidosis, where the pigmentation is all over my arms, back, legs and hips. The pigmentation is dark, deep and stubborn (photos attached). I have consulted many dermatologists before, and have taken several topical treatments consisting of kojic acid, tranexamic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, hydroquinone, retinoid, alpha arbutin, niacinamide and licorice extract, but the pigmentation has not faded and hasn't become any lighter.
A few dermatologists have suggested that chemical peals and lasers are the only solution.
Can you please advise if topical treatments can help me or should I go for chemical peels? Are chemical peels safe in the long run?
