My son is 16 months old. Suddenly on yesterday I observed that his one testicle is enlarged and feeling like a lump. Immediately rush to the nearest hospital onduty doctor after checking thoroughly advised for an USG. USG report showing the impression :- "SOL in lower part of left inguinal canal, seems to be due to encysted hydrocele of cord"
Kindly advised is there anything serious in my baby. Is it compulsory to do surgery in this age?

Hydrocele at this age mostly resolves on its own. Keep a watch for any pain, redness, increased swelling and consult a surgeon if those signs are present.
