Low Oxygen Levels at night
My mother got Covid and pnemonia last month.. She was hospitalized and kept on oxygen support.. She recovered and came back home but she is having low oxygen level around 92 to 95 when awake and while sleeping it goes up and down from 70 to 90.. It goes low when she sleeps, mostly 82, 85, but never stays constant.. Down, Up, Down, Up.. HRCT was done and the impression was RESIDUAL LESION IN A FOLLOW UP CASE OF COVID19 .. And scattered alveolar ground glass appearance noted.. What does this mean? Are her lungs Okay or not Okay? What can be done to make it Okay?please help.. Can her oragans suffer by sleeping in less oxygen level? What should I do?

Hello. Ground glass appearance shows the inflammation that has occurred in the lungs due to the virus . Her oxygen levels are low which means there is still some amount of inflammation going on. Also oxygen level usually dips down at night in such patients due to complete relaxation of all muscles of the body including head and neck which causes decreased air to enter . This can be treated with some medications
Next Steps
Kindly consider for a personal video or audio consult with me for more detailed explanation , would like to know her treatment and would modify her treatment accordingly and for sending the prescription
