Low lying placenta in TIFFA Scan
Hello Doctor, In TIFFA scan report it is showing "Placenta is posterior and low lying lower margin is 2.4cm away from the cervix". This scan is done during 3 and half month of pregnancy. Could you please explain me what is low lying placenta and whether there will be any complications due to this?

Placenta is low lying in many pregnancies at around 20-24weeks of pregnancy... usually it slides up as the pregnancy advances so nothing to worry...however if there is any bleeding at anytime immediately see your gynaecologist. Connect with me online to know further about it

It is grade 2 placenta previa, normally placenta is attached on upper part but here it is at lower side, so it some times leads to bleeding during antenatal periods and some times during delivery. For more chat me online on Practo consult app.
