Hello, Significant impairment in memory, bodily functions, and other symptoms as described by you here are suggestive of cognitive impairment like dementia. Background of daibetes makes her more prone to such problems. However this is a preliminary impression, a detailed clinical history, relevant physical and neurological examination, and some investigation including blood and MRI will be needed to be sure and rule out other possibilities. Hence my suggestion for you is to seek a consultation with a neurologist or a psychiatrist near you. Please do not delay in getting consultation as delay can lead to complications. Hope this helps you. Best wishes for your health and future..
