Your symptoms of sudden vomiting followed by frequent loose motions (around 10–11 times/day) most likely suggest **Acute Gastroenteritis or food-related infection/food poisoning. Since there is no fever and symptoms started soon after food intake, it is commonly due to irritation or infection of the intestines.
The main risk in this situation is dehydration, especially when motions are frequent. Oral fluids like ORS, coconut water, and banana are good first steps.
Regarding Depandol‑M (which usually contains an anti-diarrheal and antispasmodic component), it can help reduce the frequency of stools and abdominal cramps, but it should be used only if diarrhea is very frequent and there is no blood in stool and no high fever.
Next Steps
• Continue **Oral Rehydration Salts frequently (small sips every 5–10 minutes).
• If needed, you may take **Depandol‑M usually 1 tablet after loose motion (maximum as advised on prescription), but not for prolonged use.
• Add a probiotic such as **Saccharomyces boulardii or Lactobacillus to restore gut flora.
• Eat light foods such as rice, curd, banana, toast, or khichdi.
Seek medical care urgently if:
• Diarrhea continues more than 24–36 hours
• You develop fever, blood in stool, severe weakness, or very little urine
• Vomiting prevents you from drinking fluids.
Health Tips
• Take small frequent sips of fluids instead of large amounts at once.
• Avoid milk, oily food, spicy food, and tea/coffee until recovery.
• Rest adequately, as the body needs time to clear the infection.
• Wash hands and maintain hygiene to prevent spread to others.
If the loose motions continue or you feel weak despite fluids, please consider booking an online consultation so I can guide you with the exact medicines and dosage to help you recover faster
Likely diagnosis: Acute gastroenteritis (food poisoning).
Advice:
Take ORS/Electrol frequently to prevent dehydration
Tab Depandol-M 1 tablet twice daily after food for 3 days
Light diet (banana, rice, curd)
Consult a doctor if motions persist >2 days, fever, or blood in stool.
Your symptoms suggest acute gastroenteritis or food poisoning, likely triggered by contaminated food. This usually occurs due to viral or bacterial toxins irritating the intestine, causing excess fluid secretion and rapid bowel movements. The main risk here is dehydration due to frequent motions.
Next Steps
Tab Depandol-M – 1 tablet twice daily after food for 3 days
• ORS/Electrol solution – small frequent sips (at least 2–3 liters/day)
• Tab Racecadotril 100 mg – three times daily if motions continue
• Probiotic capsule (e.g., Sporolac / Vizylac) – twice daily for 3 days
Health Tips
Continue banana and coconut water for potassium.
• Drink fluids in small frequent amounts, not large volumes at once.

Management should focus mainly on rehydration and symptomatic relief.
To continue
Oral Rehydration
Continue ORS (Electrol / WHO ORS) frequently – small sips every 5–10 minutes.
Coconut water is fine, but ORS is more effective for electrolyte balance.
Diet
Light diet: banana, rice kanji, curd, toast, idli.
Avoid oily, spicy food, milk, tea, and fried items for now.
Next Steps
Racecadotril 100 mg three times daily for 3 days (reduces stool frequency).
Ondansetron if vomiting persists.
Probiotics such as Sporlac or Enterogermina may help restore gut flora.
Hydration goal
Drink 2–3 liters/day (ORS, rice water, buttermilk, coconut water).
Clean Drinking water 250 per episode + 4l of water
Curd and rice
