Liquid leaks after uterus removal surger
My mother has undergone open surgery of uterus removal process. It's been 7 days. But today she is having water discharge from stitched portion. She is not damped that area till today. So, is it normal? And how many days it will continue??

Your mother needs an examination of the wound. Serous discharge usually doesn’t require antibiotics . Regular dressing would be sufficient. If it progresses to pus discharge, or if there’s pain at the surgical site with wound dehiscence, antibiotics have to be started.

If it's just serous discharge from wound then daily dressing for 7-10 days may work. If there is pus or wound gapping then needs antibiotics coverage too
