Lipoma or liposarcoma?
I have had fatty lumps across my body since last five years (in forearm, in rib cage in the back and below the rib). Recently there are few coming up in my abdomen. How do I know this is not serious and something to worry about? Can a physical examination distinguish between lipoma and liposarcoma?

Clinical examination is must. If necessary the doctor will advice you for FNAC or biopsy.

It is difficult to differentiate clinically between lipoma and liposarcoma. If there is any rapid increase in size of the lump then we should suspect liposarcoma.
Next Steps
consult a physician or surgeon for proper history and physical examination
Health Tips
biopsy may be needed in case there is suspicion
