Hello , Need for details for better evaluation
- lipid profile is usually affected during Dengue fever , During active Dengue it usually falls and Sometimes increases as well during the recovery period
Next Steps
Adapt an Health life style and Diet
-Avoid Sugar , oily and deep fried foods especially Fast food
- Start doing Exercise or Brisk walking for atleast 45 min / day
- Repeat Lipid profile test after 1 month on an empty stomach
It’s actually very common for the lipid profile to rise temporarily after dengue.
When the body goes through severe infection, inflammation, hospital stay, low platelets, and dehydration, the liver metabolism changes for a few weeks. This can cause:
Higher cholesterol
Higher triglycerides
Mild liver enzyme fluctuations
Weakness and slower recovery
This does NOT usually mean you have long-term cholesterol disease. In most patients, the lipid levels gradually settle within 6–8 weeks once the body fully recovers.
But before deciding anything, the right approach is:
1. Review the “before vs after” reports properly
2. Check liver function, inflammation markers, hydration status
3. Understand whether your diet or activity changed after dengue
4. Re-check lipid profile at the correct timing (fasting + after recovery)
Without seeing the exact values clearly, no responsible doctor should start or stop any treatment. Dengue recovery itself needs a structured follow-up to ensure nothing is missed.
If you want, you can send your full reports and I’ll guide you on what’s normal, what’s concerning, and what steps you actually need right now without unnecessary medicines.
