Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  First of all happy diwali and happy new year to you. There is  a reason why we do not encourage people to google search their symptoms. There could be a lot many reasons for their issue but people get terrified by what google says. Anyways, there are a lot of causes for such a stripe on your nail, and sometimes its normal. If you notice any disfigured nail, then it could be due to fungal infection also. Or it could also be lichen planus. Do not google search your symptoms any more. Consult a dermatologist in person for further evaluation and management.  Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
