Left testical pain and discomfort.

I'm having mild pain and discomfort in my left testical since yesterday. If I lie down then don't feel pain much. I'm able to walk, travel on scooty, but still have little discomfort. I checked myself, yesterday the left one was hanging down more than the right one but today it's good and I don't see swelling. I had swelling around and behind my ear and neck last Saturday and since then it gradually decreased now to completely relieved. I took medicines for that after consulting a doctor which gave me basic fever, vitamin c, and anti bacteria medicines. Can this discomfort and pain go away on its own or do I need to have some treatment? Also can this swelling behind the ear be the cause of this discomfort in testicles?
