Possible causes are 1.Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) – common in middle-aged individuals, worsens with stairs. 2. Early Osteoarthritis – especially if there’s stiffness, crackling sound, or history of minor injuries. 3. Old Meniscal Injury – if there was a twisting injury or swelling. 4. Chondromalacia Patella – degeneration of cartilage under the kneecap.
Health Tips
1. Rest and Avoid stairs temporarily. 2. Apply Ice 3–4 times a day. 3. Over-the-counter pain relievers like Paracetamol or Ibuprofen (if no gastric or kidney issues). 4. Knee support brace while walking. 5. Quad strengthening and stretching exercises (guided physiotherapy is ideal). 6. Weight management: A BMI of ~27 suggests mild overweight; losing 3–5 kg may reduce joint load. If symptoms doesn't subside in 15 days please visit an orthopedician
