Hello, I assume that you got your child formally screened and tested for ADHD. Now since he is experiencing challenges in academics, it is advisable to get him tested for any kind of learning difficulties /disabilities. You can get NIMHANS battery or any other learning disability assessment administered from a clinical psychologist. The assessment will give you a detailed account of learning issues faced by the child in reading, writing, comprehension and arithmetic. Once learning difficulties /disabilities are ruled out (if any), appropriate recommendations (for instance having a special educator or a shadow teacher) can be made.

Get your child examined for learning disability , when the disability will be fixed then it would become easier to treat the problem. Few sessions of counselling would prove benificial as the child will learn the techniques of learning.
