Leakage after trab
My father underwent trab operation in right eye on 7th April. The bleb is functional and pressure is controlled. However there is leakage and 1-2 drops water leaks every 6 hours or if eye is touched accidentally. Doctor says blood vessels are dead and there is no chance of leakage stopping by itself. He has asked to get operated wherein he will close the leakage by pulling skin from upwards and also will needle the bleb and apply 5fu to keep bleb functional. What should we do?

Hi,leaking bleb is a known common complication of trab surgery. since its a late leaking bleb generally its treated by covering with leaking area with conjunctiva(conjunctival advancement) or amniotic membrane graft. 5 fu is also advocated. you may opt for the treatment or u can consult a glaucoma consultant for second opinion.
