Leakage after trab
My father underwent trab operation in right eye on 7th April. The bleb is functional and pressure is controlled. However there is leakage and 1-2 drops water leaks every 6 hours or if eye is touched accidentally. Doctor says blood vessels are dead and there is no chance of leakage stopping by itself. He has asked to get operated wherein he will close the leakage by pulling skin from upwards and also will needle the bleb and apply 5fu to keep bleb functional. What should we do?

Doctor is right it has to be sealed.by suturing or glue application depending on size of leak.but to use 5fu and needling is upto the clinical situation.I generally don't recommend it unless leak is big and bleb is not formed properly.but get it sealed.

LEAKING BLEB IS COMMON COMPLICATION SOMETIMES SEEN AFTER TRAB SURGERY. IT HAS TO BE SEALED WHICH CAN BE DONE BY COVERING THE AREA WITH CONJUNCTIVAL TISSUE OR AMNIOTIC MEMBRANE.
